Private Investigator in Australia

Good private investigators in Australia with extraordinary talent are hard to come by, I specialise in surveillance and investigations all over the world.

I like to treat every investigation job individually as all surveillance and evidence gathering jobs are different.

An example would be getting a passport back for a client who was stuck in Sri Lanka because his passport was confiscated by the authorrities, its a long storry but it started over land ownership and was in the courts for 7 years.

My job was to get his passport back diplomatically and it was done in just 7 days.

Another example was to undergo an investigation for a politician in Maylasia who needed evidence of his opposition.

The belief was that his opposition had entered the election while still being an Australian citizen and also needed other duties that I can not disclose.

Finding the Right Private Investigator in Australia

To find the right private investigator in Australia for your requirements is not easy because different private investigators specialise in deferent fields.

For example if your looking for someone to look into your computer or phone because you have been hacked then you need a Computer Forensics Investigator and I don’t specialise in that.

But if you need evidence for court or you need surveillance footage and photos as evidence to give you 100% proof, then that is what I specialise in.

To find the right private investigator for surveillance and court evidence you need to ask the right questions such as : Do you have a currant private investigator license and how long have you been fully employed in the industry.

Investigators not getting enough experience

A lot of private investigators in Australia are part time and cant get enough experience because no one will take them on with just a license, the problem with the industrie is that in the private sector its all about who you know and wether they are willing to teach you the industrie.

I got lucky because one of my best friends was in the industry for 20 years and he was the only one willing to give me work with no experience 15 years ago.

In this industry you wont be employed in most cases unless you have at least 2 years experience. I have been a private investigator for 15 years.

WorkCover Investigators

I know from working with other investigators when I was working with WorkCover cases that just having a license is not enough. You need many years experience before your any good.

This is not a job for most people because they think its like in the movies but in reality its quiet boring and you need a lot of patience.

So finding a private investigator in Australia is quiet hard and they must have at least 5 to10 years experience before I would trust their abilities.

The reason I say this is because being a private investigator in Australia for most people is not a full time job. For most private investigators they only work one day a week and that’s it. If they don’t have a website on the first page of google then they are definite part time but if they do WorkCover then you would be able to work 3 or 4 days a week.

So one question I would definitely ask a private investigator would be how long has he worked on WorkCover surveillance.

What is a WorkCover investigator ?

WorkCover insurance investigator generally provides surveillance or factual investigations; A case is implemented when their is suspicion by the employee or from an anonymous sauce of Workers compensation fraud, or a workplace procedure requires it, as part of due diligence.

Surveillance (activity) investigations

Surveillance investigations are a claims management tool used by Agents to discreetly determine a worker’s activities and capabilities. These investigations are also referred to as ‘activity reviews’.

Surveillance should only be used if:

  • other less intrusive methods of investigation have been considered and have been assessed to be ineffective and inadequate or have been tried and found to be inconclusive and
  • there is adequate evidence to suggest the worker may be:
  • misrepresenting their disability
  • claiming excessive disabilities or
  • involved in the commission of a fraud.
